Commissioners Andy Herod and Sharyn Dickerson, along with local publicist Michelle Roche, have joined forces to bring together the First Annual Eastside Athens Spring Fling on Saturday, April 7, 2018, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., at Southeast Clarke Park, 4400 Lexington Rd, Athens, GA 30605.
The event will include:

- food trucks
- activities for children
- BMX bike and skateboard demonstrations
- beer tent
- Eastside Business Expo
The purpose of this event is to bring awareness to East Athens and provide support for eastside business and beautification efforts. Funds will be administered by Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful (KACCB), a local nonprofit 501c3 organization offering community support and education regarding issues that affect the health and appearance of our environment. Funds raised through this effort will be allocated to improve the aesthetics of the east side along the Lexington Corridor, at Southeast Clarke Park, and/or at any one of the three commercial nodes (Whit Davis/Lexington, Cherokee/Gaines/Lexington, or Barnett Shoals/Lexington).
